That's a right teaser video, isn't it. Creating a bit of interest for what will probably be an expensive loco.

Clever bit of marketing. Their Darjeeling Garratt must have shown them the way at that price point. Max

Very nice indeed. Sadly I won't be getting one. However no doubt one will be running on the CFR in due course.

It certainly looks good, I've a space on my wish list, which is , unfortunately longer than most garden lines, so on it goes. Although if you need one extensively tested for a few years I'm free to do so! ;);)

Appears to have two separate boiler halves? Is that a linking tube?
Are there two burners?

Who can really tell, from it whizzing past / in the distance of a 33 second video?
My guess would be 'yes' to both. - So in effect 'a boiler in two halves'..

How else will they get equal output? - I ask, as I am no expert on live steam.

I sort of hoped they'd build it like a real Fairlie, two fireboxes, common steam space.
Separate halves would be quite difficult to get equalised output.
Academic, really; I doubt I'll be affording it, so drooling from a distance.

Well it seems to be missing a few bits, and unless Mike gets one it will be a shelf queen.

I guess this will retail around the 3.5K mark, but will sell like hot cakes. I'd be interested if the 45mm version didn't look too silly, its not going to be re gaugeable, but will have to see it first.

Strange choice soupy, but easy access to every drawing you want is the reason they went for it I assume.

About as useful a 'first glimpse' as not bothering at all. It gets a massive 'whoopee' from me.

I was rather underwhelmed as well Tac..

About as useful as a pair of chocolate teapot bodies to drop on that chassis!

Well us Taffy blokes are getting a load of live steam prototype models aren't we ?
If memory serves there must be around half a dozen to choose from over the last few years

I will continue to visit the Ffestiniog, WHR and Talyllyn railways and ride behind the real ones and admire this new offering at a forthcoming show next year.

Was that a moth flying past the camera lens?
I have the electric one in 45mm gauge so probably give it a miss.
