I have spent the last five years trying to recreate the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway in my back garden. I have all the original WLLR stock produced by Accucraft and several LGB Zillertalbahn four-wheelers but up to now Sierra Leone and Hungarian MAV coaches have been conspicuous by their absence.

When I first saw the Neqida vehicles from China I thought they would pass as MAVs but when the two, that I purchased for around £30 each, arrived I realised that they looked nothing like the WLLR Hungarian coaches. So I started work to transform them. A bigger job than I thought but I am pleased with the end result.

The attached pictures show the before and after. Not perfect but certainly passable.

Now does anyone know how I can re-create the Sierra Leone coaches?

I did that, too, but made them into Puszta ÁV coaches instead. Got the article around somewhere that Tag Gorton published in that well-known monthly magazine. I like your colour - what did you use?

Haven't done it myself, but if you regauge some lgb plastic wheels, you should be fine.

And I have seen them used on 32mm lines, so it's easily doable

The flanges may be too deep and hit the chairs on the smaller rail.

I am pretty *sure* someone did/does 32mm gauge wheels on longer axles???

These just 'snap-in' in place of the 45mm wheel/axle.

But, I am not able to find the supplier now! :(:shake:

Accucraft I think - and TrackShack may well have them (I bought some 45mm ones a while back).

I have some Accucraft 32mm axles - the wheels are just closer together, that's all, otherwise they are isameical.

Who wants' em? If the person who wants them is coming to Peterborough he/she can collect there.

PMs are known as Conversations on this forum's software.

At the top right of the page are 3 icons, a magnifying glass, a bell, and what is supposed to be an envelope with a down arrow inside it.

This icon is your PM/Conversations. Click on it and you should be able to work it out from there.

I'll be at P'boro too. We sometimes have a meet at 1 pm at one of the stands there. Keep a look out on forum for details....
