Having had a DRS Loco demonstrated on my line this Year I finally decided to go for it only to see the latest news that TVD had reluctantly decided to cease production of the DRS range. But the good news is that he has been contacted by someone that is interested in continuing the range. On the basis that Battery is the way of the future for me I hope this all works out.

For those that do not know Tam Valley did a system that would use a DCC Chip in an existing Loco. You only needed to fit Batteries and Isolate the Wheels and you were away. A DPDT Switch in the circuit could allow you the choice between Battery or Track Power.

The new distributor is almost within walking distance of my house, we're going to meet for coffee some time soon so I can find out about his plans.

Greg
Greg, when you meet with the distributer can you ask about the varying handsets availability now (DRS Radio Throttle?) that will talk Direct to a Tam Valley reciever rather than having to go via a DCC Control System? I do want a truly Battery Based system that will not need a DCC Controller as Jon. has created.

I'll be very interested to hear what you find out, Greg! It might even be worth you pointing him towards my threads on here.....
What we need is a handset like the Stanton Radio Cab that I'm currently using, but with just a little bit more range (transmitting power) for outdoor use!
