For what it's worth, I have to agree with the previous comment; low footplate and extended tank.
That's what I opted for .......

my Stainz, with extended tanks by graham freestone.

I want to change the Chimney at some stage to a more british looking one but it gives an idea of the proportions of the tanks.

The Supports for the smoke box wrapper will be extended down to the lower footplate, the back of boiler it's self will probably be replaced all together looking for a suitable tube rather than cut all the bits off the current one and then fill all the holes. If I can find a smokebox door that's the right size and in stock I might even scrap all the boiler including the front bit as even the front has holes that will need filling where the light was and the side pipes were.. I have a pic of the Loco I am basing it on but not sure I can paste it as it's from the nett and probably has a copyright as it has the owners name on the photo.

If the photo is already on the net..
Attribute it, and you should be fine.. It is not for commercial use after all.

Other alternative, is to ask the author..

Finally made a real start , Found a body only off a 20211 on Flea bay so started to rework that one as it's easy to remove the windows on this version unlike the 2020 that had glued in windows.
The idea was to build this then put it on the 2020 motor block I have but have all ready found out that doesn't work there are quite a few differences between the motor block and it's mountings for a 2020 and a 20211 :(

Rivets to find and add :D, and I will probably remove the handle thing molded onto the body in front of the side cab windows. still thinking about the front windows leave as is or change them to round ones.

Decided on doing the deeper side tank version as it will probably look more in keeping so time to order some sheet styrene to make the tanks :) So far soaking this driver in warm water hasn't softened the glue under his feet :( worked on the other one this one might need a big hammer :). The windows in the cab are glued in as well unlike the other where they clipped in , but they have to come out one way or another.

Not decided what to add on top the side tanks yet , probably ought to look where they keep the coal if there was no basket on the back of the cab.

Brother in law worked on steam locos in Aust sugar cane fields and they just put it on the footplate.
Piles of coal dumped along the line and shoveled onto loco each time a pile was reached. Heritage locos still use the same method today.

I like the look of this project. Both look good to me, but for what it is worth, I slightly prefer the version with the full depth side tank and lower footplate.
