Having started work on my railway after 5 years of non use, I discovered that I could not use the remote control function. I can operate trains tethered by a wire but not on R/C. I decided that a firmware update may be required so downloaded the latest version. Unfortunately Adobe reader wont let me open it, any ideas ? The central station display no longer works so that may make it difficult for me to carry out an update anyway. Would it therefore be a good idea to send the unit to Massoth for a new display and a firmware update ? if so how do I go about that. Thanks

I had a similar issue a while back. 1200Z display was banjaxed and I couldn't run anything. Called Peter Ting via Massoth support line and agreed to send unit to them. (Luckily I had original box but I stuck it into a bigger one with additional packaging!)

I think I got the unit back within a fortnight with a new display fitted and latest firmware loaded. I can't recall the cost - I'll try and dig out the receipt - but it was a heck of a lot cheaper than getting a replacement. Can't speak too highly of the service I got from Massoth on resolving this problem.

To do the update you really need the display to be working. Contact Peter Ting (hotline@massoth.de) to co-ordinate.
