A local paper journalist is interviewing a widow:
"I understand you've been widowed FOUR times, that must be terrible, what did your first husband die of?"
"Eating poisonous mushrooms."
"Oh dear, and the second one...?"
"Poisonous mushrooms."
"The third...?
"Poisonous mushrooms"
"....And the last one..?"
"An axe wound to the head."
"Oh my God, how did that happen??"
"Wouldn't eat his mushrooms...."

Today was a majour step forward..i managed to get the 3 peaces joined. 2 cab ends and a side.. ive started drawing out the remaining side..
Even naked it looks a fantastic locomotive, painted up it will surely be a stunner.

Just been catching up on your thread Mike. Really interesting development with the new loco - as others have said, it looks like it will be stunning when done. Garratt next??

Bit more progress . Second side ready for mounting on the boddy.. ive used jennys ladys 1.5kg.dumbel as a weight .. its ideal .. loads still to do..roof next..
That is looking exceptionally smart - why are Jenny's weights electrified ??

Spoke to old one sugare and his sage advice was to follow aircraft construction..ribs and spans with skin..so...
A pc fan was bought via china ..
Ribs were made ..

I was planning to lay plasticard on top of the ribs/formers ..but found the plasticard wouldnt stick to the cut edges of the foam bord..which was frustrating...it sticks like #### to the smooth face of it.. any how after a brew and some testing i whent down a differnt path...i bent strips of foambord cut to fit between the ribs/formers ...this is glued in...and i will cover this with plasticard ect ..

I'm sure that running the historic set, allowed you to sit back and ponder the best way forward 
Could you warm the plastic up and pre curve it? Just a thought - its a PITA glueing at the edges (I've had the same problem with thin plywood). But it's looking good!
