This should be trivial, but I do not think a 55021 can do it?

I want the LR (rear) light feed to be 'on' in both directions, but controlled from the light key.
I have lost track (and will to live) of the values I have tried for this.. Shirley it is just 'add forward and reverse value' and write to CV 53?

Anyone know if it is possible?

TIA,
PhilP.

If that is going to work (I can't prove it here @ work) then you'd need to set the CV53 = 192 (64 + 128) to force the "reverse" bit and the "forward" bit both to be on.

With LED lighting hard wired to a decoder, the other way is to physically wire the rear light to both front and rear light connections, so you get an "or" condition. Doesn't work so well with bulbs 'cos the current can leak to the front light also. Also doesn't really help with a 55021 directly plugged into the main board pins.

In which case it is a no-no..
Definitely tried 192.. Also 194, in case it would not work with the light button, but would with another function key.

I have a tender 'Nikki & Frank -alike' where the mainboard has gone.. can use the XLS in the tender, and a 55021 in the loco. Was trying to do away with the umbilical, but if I am not able to make the interior light perform (yes, I know you would not run with it on prototypically, but that is not what LGB loco's usually do) then it might be a non-starter..

Flash of inspiration..
Could use another function to switch it.. Will have to see what the sound mapping is like.

Thanks to Arthur also..

If all else fails put a diode on each light feed & join them together, just like wiring a cab light.

Thanks Mike.. Another option.

Of course, in a perfect world, the original LGB loco board would be repaired, meaning I could just replace the burnt-out decoder.

Just to say thanks..
This appears to have been a faulty decoder.. A swap (did not have a spare originally) has cured my problems.
