Pic of the Day 17.03.19

A view of part of the table top G Scale Layout Thomas and Friends at Scoutrail, Kidlington, Oxfordshire, 7.1.2017

I like this one because it has the "wriggle factor" . I have a single outing each year with a display and one year I overheard two ladies talking and one said, "It's not as interesting as last year, the train doesn't wriggle round". I guessed, correctly as it happens, that she was talking about the 30 degree crossover in the previous year's layout, so since then I have always included the "wriggle factor", sometimes with a crossover, sometimes just by putting in a curve at the entry and or the exit to a station. Although the wriggle factor in the picture only applies to a loco coming off a particular siding, capturing that moment in he photo gives a sense of movement and interest it wouldn't have otherwise.
